History of AI in the workplace

A brief history and the evolution of Artificial Intelligence with key points:

1950 - Alan Turing published "Computing Machines and Intelligence". This opened up the doors for what would become AI as we know it.

1956 - AI term is coined by John McCarthy, Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon.

1964 - Dabiel Bobrus developed STUDENT, an NLP program designed to solve Algebra word problems.

1966 - Jospeh Weizenbaum created what was known to be the first real chatbot called Eliza.

1973 - James Lighthill released "AI: A General Survey".

2006 - IBM Watson was originated with the goal of beating a human on the show Jeopardy.

2011 - Apple released Siri

2014 - Facebook developed the first facial recognition system DeepFace.

2016 - Uber started a self-driving car pilot program.

2021 - OpenAI introduced Dall-E, which would generate images from text.

2023 - OpenAI announces GPT-4, a program that receives both text and image prompts.
